The sleep was so good that I almost missed the time to go out with Quinn! Luckily he wanted for me. Thank God! Or I don't think I will ever get the chance to do this again, to follow real farmer around the experience their work. Had to wear their farmer clothes and boots. Haha all too long and big for me. And it's still pitch dark out there. Hop onto a tractor. First task of the day, spread out the dried hay for the cow to eat. Quinn shared that hay are alternative food for the cow. He shared more but I was still not very awake to understand. Sorry Quinn! But he really knows his farm well, to be able to drive around the huge farm in the dark. I was totally lost in that huge field! Doubt I know my way even when the sun is out. Helped to untie the hay. About 4 big piles. Then Quinn had to take note of the ocation so that we can bring the cow to the correct place to eat. The big farm is actually divided to many parts so that the cow takes turn to feed on different patch of grass, giving time for the grass to grow back again.
Now that the hay are laid out, it’s time to “invite” the herd out to makan! I helped Quinn to “direct” the little ones to the feeding ground. Little ones are not so little after all! And as Quinn prepared me, they will pause, check me out before they proceed on. Haha, don’t think will dare to stand still and smile back face to face if it’s a tiger cub!
After nice cereal breakfast with honey, we carry on with the work. This time round is to milk the cow. Not using hand but machine. But it’s not easy at all! You have to be really fast put attached the “sucking” tube to the correct place or the cow will kick you! And trust me, it’s a power kick. And while they are being milked, guess what they multi tasking at the same time? Ha ha… big business! And what they use to clean? Check out the photos to see if you have guess correctly! Ha ha ha… somehow I don’t find it dirty but rather, I think it’s quite a funny sight!
After 1 last glass of fresh milk while enjoying a full rainbow, we head off to Rotorua – Dawn, Quinn & me! For the famous Polynesian Spa! Gosh, it’s beautiful and relaxing. Check out the pic and you know what I mean. Hmmm……
Thank God for having Quinn with us. He drove us out of the city to view the mud pool. My Gosh! It’s really an exclusive experience. I always love Geography…. But dunno why I always score so badly…
