31 May, Sat (Auckland)

Had breakfast at Fraser Café along Eden Street. That's where I stay. Supposed to be the "Bukit Timah" here. Really nice Bailey's cheesecake. Drop by at Dawn's house for some net surfing and planning. Along the way saw some botak tree. Dawn said their branches were just chop off few days ago to prepare for winter. Interesting.

Check out the end of the branches. Actually quite ugly looking right? Haha

We went on to climb Mt Eden, a dormant volcano. Highest point in Auckland but we reached the top in less than an hour. Think Dawn can reach in half hour if not because of the short-legged me that she has to bring along. Hehe. Beautiful scenery up there. Can see almost the whole of Auckland. Need not pay to go up Sky Tower to see. Checked out the beautiful Clock Tower at Auckland University. Nice place.

Went on to half a delicious Korean BBQ buffet lunch. Think if Justin and Neo are here they sure whack man! Really very worth it! Count dinner in as well. Walked over Sky Tower for the Information Center, commonly known as the i centre here, to get some information for my South Island trip. Very friendly Japanese man serving us. Yes there are many Japanese, Korean and Chinese here. Mostly migrate here. This must be a very nice country then. Well, I shall find out more in the next few days! And I was lucky to get to see a guy doing bungee jump there! Check out more information at the InterCity bus office but the Maori lady not so friendly. Sigh. I find out more myself from Internet better. Ok over to Dawn's place again then anyway it's already very dark here at 6pm and most shops are closed already.
